NYSMDA ADMISSION POLICIES
Within the limits of its ability and resources, it is the policy of The New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants to accept all qualified applicants for our medical assistant training and dental assistant program, whose credentials demonstrate that they have the interest, ability, and potential to successfully complete appropriate requirements for the course of study selected and have a reasonable likelihood of finding employment in their chosen field. The school does not discriminate based on ethnicity, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age, political affiliation, national origin or disability.
All applicants must visit the Office of Admissions to meet with an admissions representative to complete an Application for Admission. Admissions interviews will be scheduled to discuss the various options which are available. To provide each applicant with the best information possible with which to make a well-informed decision to attend NYSMDA, the applicant will be fully apprised of program requirements, supportive services, class schedules and the registration procedures.
NYSMDA prioritizes providing a high-quality education, evident by their accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). This accreditation ensures adherence to strict standards that benefit students. For example, ACCSC requires instructors to be experienced and qualified, programs to meet industry needs, and facilities and equipment to be up-to-date and well-maintained. Furthermore, ethical admissions practices are mandated to ensure students understand their obligations and are not pressured to enroll. This rigorous review process guarantees NYSMDA offers a valuable and trustworthy educational experience.

Admission Requirements at NYSMDA
17 years old or older.
Documented proof of either a High School Diploma or GED. Applicants with a foreign diploma will be required to submit their credentials for academic evaluation and a translation along with an additional fee.
Personal interview.
Completion of all necessary admission forms.
Registration fee.
Demonstration of interest, motivation, capability and reliability.
Recommendation from admissions representative.
Applications for admission are accepted without regard to race, creed, sexual preference, or national or ethnic origin.
Title IV Code of Conduct
The New School for Medical Assistant and Dental Assistants, Inc. disseminates the following information annually to all of the institution’s officers, and employees.
The institution’s officers, and employees may not receive directly or indirectly, points, premiums, payments, stock or other securities, prizes, travel, entertainment expenses, tuition payment or reimbursement, the provision of information technology equipment at below market value, additional financial aid funds or any other inducement from a guaranty agency or eligible lender in payment for securing applicants for FFEL loans.
The institution or its employees may not provide names and addresses and/or e-mail addresses of students or prospective students or parents to eligible lenders or guaranty agencies for the purpose of conducting unsolicited mailings, by either postal or electronic means, of FFEL student loan applications.
The institution will not allow any employee of the guaranty agency or eligible lender to perform any school-required function for a school participating in the FFEL Program, except exit counseling. The institution will not permit guaranty agencies to conduct fraudulent or misleading advertising concerning loan availability, terms or conditions.
The New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants, Inc. will not permit an employee to enter into a consulting arrangement or other contract with an eligible lender.
The institution will not permit an employee working in the student financial aid office to serve on an advisory board for an eligible lender.
