NYSMA has two (2) training programs that are designed for its graduates to obtain entry level employment in the medical and dental assisting fields.

The Dental Assisting Program is 900 hours in length and can be completed in ten (10) months if attended in the daytime and twelve (12) months if attended in the evening.

The Medical Assisting Degree granting program can be completed in sixteen months by full-time students. Both programs are hands-on clinical programs that require an externship at the end of the in-school portion of the program.

The externship is an integral part of both the programs and is required for graduation. Externships are often placed with a private doctor’s office, medical clinic or hospital.
